Session One (2 Hours)

1.       Introduction to the day’s course

2.       Explain the reason for good, accurate history taking

3.      An adequate time allowed for history taking, covering all eventualities

4.      The art of taking a good case history

5.      Look for red and yellow flags and danger signs.

6.      Relevant Case History  for a Road Traffic Accident

Session Two (2 Hours)

1.      Understand and evaluate the differences between mechanical LBP and those of a pathological nature.

2.      The differences between Radiculopathy and Myelopathy when treating back problems

3.      Recognise and learn the important orthopaedic tests and eliminate the irrelevant ones for LBP.

4.      Perform Sensation, Motor and Reflex in order to pinpoint the exact level of LBP. Evaluate the difference between a prolapsed disc or a subluxation.

5.      Appreciate the importance of a thorough examination in order to reach a diagnosis

Session Three (One and a Half Hours)

1.      To know the difference between Referred Radicular Pain and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) when treating cervical problems.

2.      Learn to perform the relevant orthopaedic cervical tests before treating cervical problems.

3.      Perform Sensation, Motor and Reflex tests to the cervical vertebrae.

4.      How to treat the dizzy patient

Its been another busy year, what with re-locating to rural Oxfordshire, rescuing and rehabilitating a couple of really lovely horses, helping both animal and human clients, and running / co-ordinating courses with fantastic students and brilliant invited teachers - all good stuff!
